Some who live west of the Union Pacific railroad tracks between Wellborn and Millican will be restricted Wednesday when they can get in and out of their homes. Brazos County commissioner Steve Aldrich, who represents those living in the affected area, says UP will close Schehin and High Prairie Roads Wednesday between 9 and 3 for maintenance.
Meantime, the customized UP Locomotive No. 4141 used in last week’s funeral train of George H.W. Bush is on public display in the railroad’s hometown of Omaha. A UP spokeswoman told WTAW News “Union Pacific has not yet decided No. 4141’s next steps. We are taking time to be thoughtful about the decision and make sure the locomotive’s future is befitting the honor it had last week carrying former President George H.W. Bush to College Station.”
