The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) announced Thursday the awarding of six road projects in the Bryan district by the Transportation Commission.
The total cost is $44,238,020 dollars. Brazos County received two projects with a combined total cost of over $21 million.
As previously reported, the state is contributing over $4.6 million to expand the Rock Prairie Road bridge over the Earl Rudder Freeway.
Also in Brazos County, is a continued expansion of Highway 21 to four lanes. Awarded Thursday was spending over $16 million to add lanes from Kurten to the Navasota River. This will connect with a three mile stretch already being built. Completion of the nearly eight million dollar project is expected next August.

- SH 21-Brazos County-Construct two-lane roadway to four-lane roadway from Democrat Road to Navasota River. Cost is $16,371,720.
- Interstate 45-Walker County-upgrade the existing interchange fro the interchange with I-45 and FM 1791. Cost is $5,929,500.
- FM 50-Burleson County-two lane realignment from FM 2039 to Old River. Cost is $11,282,020.
- SH 6-Grimes County-converting frontage roads to one-way from north of FM 3090 to south of SP 515/SH 105. Cost is $3,081,610.
- SH 36-Washington County-interchange improvements from FM 577 to north of Business SH 36. Cost is $2,935,750.
- SH 6-Brazos County-upgrade the existing interchange at Rock Prairie Road. Cost is $4,637,420.
