TWU Student Arrested After Campus Threat

DENTON, Texas (AP) _ A 30-year-old student at a North Texas university has been arrested after allegedly making a threat in class that prompted a school lockdown.

Nobody was harmed at Texas Woman’s University in Denton shortly after 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, but TWU advised students and staff to remain indoors after the man allegedly made an unspecified threat and left class.

A TWU statement says the lockdown was lifted by late morning after the suspect was taken into custody.

Christopher Alan Gillette was later arrested at the Veterans Affairs hospital in Dallas. He was in the Denton County Jail charged with making a terroristic threat.

TWU, with enrollment of about 14,000, is located 50 miles north of Dallas.
