A Bryan man heading home from a funeral lands in jail for the 33rd time. The Bryan police arrest report says an officer stopped a SUV with outdated registration and no license plate. The arrest report says the officer told the driver he was sorry for his loss, but the officer needed to see a driver’s license. After three more officers arrived, 48 year old Ernest Webb was arrested for driving with an invalid license (DWLI), failing to identify himself, and warrants from Bryan municipal court and Brazos County district court related to past convictions for driving with an invalid license. Webb, who was arrested December 28th, was released on December 31st. That is after posting bonds totaling $4,000 dollars on the DWLI and failing to identify charges, paying $872.10 in fines and fees on the warrant from district court, being released on the municipal court warrant to pay a $400 dollar fine at a later time, and being released on his promise to return to court on the charges of not displaying a license plate and having expired registration.
