A Bryan man is headed to prison for the third time after his attempt to drive away from an arrest for a parole violation ended when his Expedition struck a Tahoe driven by a Bryan policeman. 29 year old Dachristopher Harrison pleaded guilty to evading arrest and child endangerment. The latter charge involved his six year old son riding in the front seat as Harrison was going 40 miles an hour in reverse. The impact of the collision caused the airbag to deploy in the police SUV. No one was hurt. Due to prior convictions, the Brazos County district attorney’s office says Harrison will have to serve at least 15 years.
Prosecutors reached a plea agreement with another Bryan man who had been arrested nine times in the last two and a half years. A prison sentence of seven years was given to 36 year old Larry Kennedy in part for beating his girlfriend and trying to push her off a balcony. The victim received hospital treatment for her injuries during the assault in Bryan in February of last year. Kennedy also admitted to three misdemeanor thefts, the most recent being in January when he and a second man were caught by College Station police to taking 15 pieces of landscape fencing from Eastmark apartments.
