An accused drunk driver was arrested after hitting a deputy constable’s patrol car while it was a traffic stop late Friday night on FM 974/Tabor Road northeast of Bryan.

The constable, who was in the driver’s seat, and a deputy sheriff who was leaning through the passenger’s side window and was thrown to the ditch, were treated at St. Joseph for non-life threatening injuries.

Sheriff Chris Kirk says the traffic stop was near the old Lakeview Club where there were cars parked along the highway.

DPS investigated the crash. 20 year old Juan Falcon-Corral of Bryan is out of jail after posting bond following his arrest for DWI.

Chris Kirk visits with WTAW’s Bill Oliver.
