A Bryan man’s 28th arrest since 1989…and his second in four months…followed a traffic stop for driving a car without brake lights and failing to signal within one hundred feet of an intersection. According to the arrest report from Bryan police, the driving record of 63 year old Sammie Eldridge includes 28 active suspensions. Eldridge is out of jail after posting bond on a charge of driving with an invalid license with two prior convictions. Police released the car to Eldridge’s mother in law. According to online records, Eldridge was arrested in March to pay more than three thousand dollars in fines and costs from six Bryan municipal court traffic cases from 2012, 2013, and 2014.
A Bryan man in jail for the third time since March came after he told Bryan police he had the right to use profanity. According to online records, 37 year old Cedrick Dion Williams has been arrested 21 times in the last 19 years. Early Tuesday morning, according to the arrest report, BPD responded to a convenience store west of downtown Bryan on the report of an employee being threatened. Williams is also accused of causing 15 hundred dollars damage to the inside of a patrol vehicle while being driven to jail. Then it took about eight jailers and two officers to get Williams out of the car, and with leg restraints place him in a wheelchair to take him to a padded cell. Williams is also accused of head-butting a detention officer.
