Two Crashes Claim Two Local Lives

A College Station man died in a Monday morning crash west of Crockett. According to DPS Trooper David Hendry, an eastbound pickup on Highway 21 crossed the center line and struck a westbound semi and semi trailer. The driver of the pickup who died at the scene was identified as 24 year old Jake Ray Allen. The driver of the semi, 42 year old Charles Christopher Luker Jr. of Carthage, was not injured.

In a separate incident, a Bryan teenager died Sunday from a crash last Friday east of Bryan on FM 1179 at Steep Hollow Road. DPS Trooper Jimmy Morgan says a westbound S-10 pickup lost contact on the wet pavement and crossed the center line, striking a F-250 pickup. The S-10 then spun into the side of a minivan. A passenger in the S-10 who was killed was identified as 16 year-old Maurisio Antonio Ramirez. The driver of the S-10, 18 year old Jacob Grenwelge of Bryan, was taken to a hospital. The driver of the minivan was treated and released from a local hospital. No injuries were reported to the driver of the F-250.
