Two citizens help Bryan police capture a local man early Friday morning. Just after three a.m., a witness told officers they saw someone looking into vehicles parked outside the College Main apartments, located north of the Northgate district. When one of the officers spotted the suspect, the suspect ran towards Wellborn Road. The foot chase continued past the railroad tracks. A second officer received a ride from a citizen, which ended with the second officer capturing the suspect near the A&M student business services building on F&B Road. The day before his 19th birthday, Ronald Wilson of Bryan was arrested for evading officers. According to the arrest report, Wilson denied looking into vehicles or pulling on door handles. Officers reported several unlocked vehicles appeared to have been rummaged. According to online jail records, Wilson is also held on charges related to two upcoming trials. One accuses him of criminal mischief and criminal trespassing in April. And the other involves misdemeanor possession of marijuana that took place in January.

A Bryan man held in the Brazos County jail since mid-June is now accused of assaulting two detention officers. According to the arrest report, officers responded to the report of 22 year old Colton Thurman eating plastic pieces from a broken soap dish. When Thurman refused to remove what he had in his mouth, officers went in the cell and pinned Thurman against a wall. Thurman then took a piece of the broken dish and cut one of the officers and bit the arm of another officer. Thurman continued biting until he was hit with two shots from a Taser. Thurman is awaiting two trials…one for violating probation on a conviction of violating a protection order, and the other for taking attempting to take a weapon from an officer. And earlier this year, he served a six month sentence for criminal trespassing with a deadly weapon and evading arrest.
