Two Arrests For Evading In A Vehicle And On Foot

A Fort Worth man remains in the Brazos County jail on charges from a chase last Friday night. According to the DPS arrest report, a trooper spotted a pickup with outdated registration. The driver, 38 year old Shannon Allen is accused of pulling into the parking lot of the local Toyota dealership, then taking off after the trooper got out of his vehicle. Allen stopped again near the intersection of the freeway and Old Reliance and ran into a field where he was eventually caught. Allen was arrested for evading arrest in a vehicle, evading on foot, and possessing ecstasy with the intent to sell. Bonds total $65,000 dollars.

A Brazos County sheriff’s deputy on patrol last Saturday night saw a car in Bryan make a right turn using its left turn signal. That started a chase where the car was going 60 miles per hour before stopping on a side street between the freeway and Sadie Thomas Park. According to the arrest report, the driver jumped out while the car was still moving and started running. The deputy caught up and fired his Taser twice before taking the driver into custody. 38 year old Keith Calhoun of Bryan was arrested for evading arrest in a vehicle with prior convictions, evading on foot with prior convictions, and resisting arrest. According to online records, it’s the 14th time Calhoun has been booked since June of 2000. Bonds in his latest arrest totals $17,000 dollars.
