Two Arrests Follow Gunfire Outside College Station’s Days Inn Motel

The College Station police department’s SWAT and hostage negotiations teams surrounded a local motel following a report of gunfire Friday night. No one was injured and two people were arrested 90 minutes after the Days Inn on Texas near Southwest Parkway was surrounded.

According to the arrest report, one shot was fired following an argument between a man and a woman over an undisclosed financial matter.

Officers found a shell casing outside a motel room and a bullet hole in the ceiling outside the room.

After getting a search warrant, a .25 caliber semi automatic pistol was found in a small utility cutout.

According to the arrest report, 30 year old Rebecca Lynn Coulter of Lufkin admitted to firing the gun with the intent of scaring the man.

Coulter, who was arrested for deadly conduct for firing the gun, is in jail for the second time less than three weeks. She was out on bond following a January 28th arrest by Bryan police on two warrants from Angelina County.

One of the other people inside the motel room at the time of the gunfire, 32 year old Dedrick Henderson of Navasota, was arrested for giving a false name. He was not the target of the gunfire, according to the arrest report.

90 minutes after surrounding the Days Inn on Texas near Southwest Parkway, two people were arrested.

According to CSPD investigators, an argument between a man and a woman led to the woman firing a gun in the direction of a second unidentified person in an effort to scare them.

30 year old Rebecca Lynn Coulter of Lufkin was arrested for deadly conduct. According to online Brazos County jail records, Coulter posted bond February 2nd following a January 28th arrest by Bryan police on two warrants from Angelina County.

32 year old Dedrick Henderson of Navasota, who was not the person Coulter was firing the gun towards, was arrested for failing to identify himself.
