Thursday update:
A third arrest has been made in last week’s armed robbery of a convenience store in north Bryan.
23 year old Charles Hawkins of Bryan was picked up last/Wednesday night. He is among those accused of disguising themselves and entering the Handi-Stop on Texas north of Highway 21.
An undisclosed amount of cash and lottery tickets were taken.
Officer Kelley McKethan says some of the tickets were found in the getaway car, along with clothing and a wig worn during the robbery.
The clerk was dragged across the floor and was threatened at gunpoint with her life if they hit the panic button.
Original story:
The quick thinking of a passerby has led to the arrest of two men accused of holding up a north Bryan convenience store last Wednesday.
Police report that during an armed robbery of the Handi Stop on Texas Avenue, a witness snapped a picture of the getaway car, which he was then able to give to police.
The police found a matching car even though its tags had been removed, as well as costumes matching those used by the men in the hold-up.
Arrests include 23-year-old Anthony Reed, Jr, and 22-year-old Michael Bradford, both of Bryan.
A third man is still being sought.
