Two A&M Woman’s Basketball Players Named All-Americans

COLLEGE STATION- Texas A&M junior guards Jordan Jones and Courtney Walker were named All-Americans by the Associated Press on Tuesday. This marks the first time since 2010-11, and the fifth time in program history, that A&M has produced two All-Americans in the same season. Jones and Walker were both Honorable Mention selections.

Walker was named AP All-America Honorable Mention for the second consecutive year, making her the fourth two-time selection in program history. Walker, who was an AP All-American Honorable Mention selection in 2013-14, joins A’Quonesia Franklin, Takia Starks and Danielle Adams as Aggies who have been selected as AP All-Americans twice.

Walker averaged 14.3 points per game in 2014-15, and moved into eighth on Texas A&M’s career scoring list with 1,389 career points. Walker is a two-time All-SEC First Team selection, and was named SEC Player of the Week twice in 2014-15.

Jones becomes the 10th AP All-American in program history with her selection as an Honorable Mention. Jones earned SEC Defensive Player of the Year for the second straight season, becoming only the second player in SEC history to win the award twice. She led the SEC in assists for the second consecutive season, and ranked in the top 10 nationally in that category for the second straight year.

The Aggies finished 2014-15 with a 23-10 record and made their 10th consecutive appearance in the NCAA Tournament.
