News release from The Twin City Toucans:
Bryan-College Station, TX – June 4, 2024 – Twin City Toucans FC fell in defeat 1-0 against the AHFC Royals at home in what was an exciting match fueled by a rowdy crowd at Edible Field.
The first half was full of chances for both sides, but neither the Toucans nor Royals were able to make their mark on the scoreboard. The Toucans were led by brilliant play from goalkeeper Tristan Whitlock who made several brilliant saves on Royals’ chances.
Late in the second half, it was finally Hunter Cain for the Royals who broke through with a far-side strike to put the Royals on the board 1-0 and claim the match’s only goal. The Toucans would have opportunities in the closing minutes from Rhys Shirley and College Station native Ross Anderson but were unable to beat Logan Erb who earned a clean sheet.
After the match, all kids in attendance were able to kick penalty kicks against Toco The Toucan and get autographs and pictures from all of their favorite Toucans players.
The Toucans remain home this Friday, June 7th as they take on AC Houston Sur at Edible Field. That match is scheduled for a 7:30 PM kickoff. For tickets to all upcoming Toucans matches, visit toucansfc.com.
