Billions of dollars of new buildings for state universities have been endorsed by the House Appropriations Committee.
Representative John Raney of Bryan and 17 other committee members have called on the Governor to add House Bill 5 to the special session agenda.
Between the A&M and U-T systems, the bonds would pay for $1.5 billion dollars of new construction.
For A&M, that includes a $64 million dollar biocontainment research facility and $107.2 million for health science center buildings in Temple, Round Rock, and Dallas.
John Raney visits with WTAW’s Bill Oliver.
