Brazos County Sheriff Chris Kirk reporting a train approaching a pickup that was stuck sideways on railroad tracks came with enough time to avoid a collision.

The driver of the truck was arrested for interfering with railroad property, public intoxication, and possessing cocaine.

Tuesday night’s incident, which was along Wellborn Road near Greens Prairie Road, was initially reported by a passerby who said the driver, 22 year old Travis Lusk of Turnersville, would not get out of the truck.

According to Brazos County 9-1-1, the train was stopped for almost two and a half hours to remove the truck.
