A Brazos County sheriff’s deputy stopping a car last Wednesday (May 8) for a seat belt violation results in a department of public safety investigator searching a College Station motel room.
That leads to the arrest of two men with felony criminal records on drug and weapons charges.
DPS arrest reports charge 29 year old Keith Janak of Columbus, the person who wasn’t wearing his seat belt, with possessing cocaine, methamphetamine, Oxycodone, Xanax, T-H-C, marijuana, a handgun, and more than 70 items associated with identity theft. Janak remains jailed as of May 13 in lieu of bonds totaling $213,000 dollars.
A second man who arrived to pick up Janak’s car was also arrested. 34 year old Tristan Embry of Sealy was charged with possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of a firearm. Embry remains jailed as of May 13 in lieu of bonds totaling $40,000 dollars.
