It’ll be a busy weekend in Bryan College Station, especially on Sunday.
College Station Police Lieutenant Chuck Fleeger says to plan your routes ahead of time, and give yourself extra time for more people than usual.
Fleeger says the BCS Marathon will start about 7, but roads will be closed for about 6 1/2 hours beginning between 5:00 and 6:30 on race day.
Then, the 87th Annual BCS Christmas Parade will affect traffic around the area of South College and University, and University and Texas up into Bryan to Villa Maria.
Fleeger says roads will start closing at about 1:30 and traffic on Texas between University and Villa Maria is going to be diverted.

With real winter weather in store, the 87th Annual B/CS Christmas Parade will step off at exactly 2:30PM on Sunday.
University Drive between Texas Avenue and S. College will close between 1:30 and 2PM. Polo Road into Campus will close at 1:30. New Main Drive will close to traffic at 8AM. Texas Avenue will be closed starting at 1:30 from University Drive to near Villa Maria.
The weather is expected to be cold, but without rain at the parade start, so Parade Officials do not expect a weather related cancellation. Co-Chair Penny Zent said, “It’s perfect Christmas weather; 45° with no rain. Dress warmly and let’s have a parade!”
The Parade starts at Polo Road on campus and proceeds east on University before turning north onto Texas Avenue. This year the annual Jingle Bell Run will begin at 2:15 and precede the Parade along the route. The parade route can be found at BCSParade.com.
