An employee of a Bryan convenience store who was the victim of an armed robbery Wednesday night aided in the arrest of the suspect.

According to the Bryan police arrest report, the clerk at the Valero at William Joel Bryan and the freeway placed a tracking device in the money bag that was given to the suspect.

The tracking device led police to the suspect’s car, which stopped on a cul-de-sac on Chimney Hill Drive in College Station.

The driver got out and ran into the woods.

Again using the tracking device and a DPS helicopter, the suspect was found about a half mile away on Rosemary Drive.

44 year old Steven Dwayne Goodson of Chappel Hill was taken into custody after he was shot with a Taser by a DPS trooper.

The money bag containing all the money was recovered, again with the assistance of the tracking device.

As of Friday afternoon, Goodson remained in the Brazos County jail on bonds totaling $100,000 dollars after his arrest on charges of aggravated robbery and evading arrest.
