Parents of 6th through 12th grade student-athletes are invited to attend a town hall meeting to discuss health and safety issues in secondary schools.
The Bryan school district is hosting the event Monday night at 6 in the Bryan High School Silver Cafeteria.
Bryan ISD Communications Director Sandy Farris says this is a community event, open to parents in and outside BISD.

The first-ever Bryan ISD Town Hall Meeting to discuss Health and Safety in Secondary School Athletics will be held at Bryan High School in the Silver Cafeteria on Monday, Feb. 25 at 6 p.m.
The meeting is open to all members of the community, particularly parents of athletes in grades 6-12.
Risks and benefits of sports participation will be discussed, as well as the procedures taken should an injury occur. Topics will include:
- Athlete & Parent Responsibility
- Insurance Options
- Asthma
- Diabetes
- Concussion & Traumatic Brain Injury
- Hydration & Healthy Eating Habits
- Heat Illness
- Sudden Cardiac Arrest
There will be a time for community members to ask questions to the Sports Medicine Team that is responsible for the health and safety of athletes at Bryan ISD.
