Toddler Hospitalized After Being Hit in CS Parking Lot

News release from the College Station Police Department:

On Saturday May 5, 2013 at approximately 1055 a.m. Officers with the College Station Police Department were dispatched to Kroger’s, located at 3737 Longmire Dr. regarding an accident involving a vehicle and a pedestrian. Upon arrival, Officers met with witnesses who stated a two year old child had broken away from the adult guardian and was struck by a vehicle near the entrance to the store. The College Station Fire Department transported the two year old female to the College Station Medical Center with incapacitating injuries. The child was then transferred to Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston.

The vehicle involved was described as a 2011 Chevy Suburban. The driver of the vehicle was identified as a 39 year old College Station residence and is cooperating with investigators. All names of parties involved are being withheld at this time.

The child is reported to be in stable condition at Memorial Herman at this time.

This case has been turned over to the College Station Criminal Investigation Division and anyone with information to this incident is asked to contact the College Station Police Department.
