Tip A Cop Organizers And Volunteers Say Thanks

Bryan police department news release announcing results of last week’s Bryan/College Station Tip A Cop event:

Last week Local Law Enforcement Officers participated in the Special Olympics 4 day Tip-a-Cop fundraiser at Texas Roadhouse in College Station.

Sgt. Jason James and Officer Chris Reyes with the Bryan Police Department coordinated Officers, Fire Fighters, Dispatchers, and Security Personnel from 15 different agencies to assist the wait staff for tips.

This year officers received $32,378.82 in donations (tips) demonstrating another increase in donations for our area and cementing our position as a top performing event in the state.

Earlier in the year, a one night Tip-A-Cop was held at Razoo’s Cajun Café. Several of the same agencies participated to make this event a success. This event generated $4,788 worth of tips.

This brings the total of $37,166.82 raised in support of our Special Olympics athletes.

We would like to thank the Bryan/College Station community for your continued support of our local officers and our Special Olympic athletes. We also thank those individuals who volunteered their time to make this event a success.

Law Enforcement officers are keepers of the flame for the Special Olympics and raise money for the Special Olympics each year. Officers also participate in a Torch Run to the Special Olympics State games and volunteer time working security at games held here in the Brazos Valley every year.

If you were unable to make this year’s Tip-a-Cop and would like to make a monetary donation to the Special Olympics, you can still make a donation to go towards our totals. Special Olympics Texas is a 501c3 organization. You can mail a donation to:
