Press release from the Brazos County Health Department:

The novel H1N1 vaccine will not be distributed via the usual private sector channels but will be made available through the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) only.

To receive the novel H1N1 vaccine, all healthcare providers must register on http://www.texasflu.org/ and complete the online Texas Novel H1N1 Vaccine Healthcare Provider Registration Form.

The deadline to register to receive vaccine is September 11, 2009.

In order to make a vaccine available to potentially the entire Texas population within a short period, private and public providers will need to join forces. DSHS is working to develop systems to meet CDC requirements, and to support the needs of Texas providers participating in the novel H1N1 vaccine initiative. Providers are encouraged to visit http://www.texasflu.org/ often for updates on the novel H1N1 flu situation in Texas, and request that you complete the registration online as soon as possible.
