Thursday Power Outage In College Station Affects 9,000 Customers

An estimated 9,000 College Station Utilities (CSU) electric customers were without power for more than one hour late Thursday afternoon.

CSU staff say the outage followed an equipment failure at the Southwood Valley substation.

In the WTAW control room, the outage started around 5:40 p.m. and service was restored around 6:50 p.m.

According to a screen shot taken from the CSU outage map, eight neighborhoods were hit by the outage.

The general area was south of George Bush, north of Graham, east of Wellborn, and west of the freeway.
