Three Killed in Conroe Accident

CONROE, Texas (AP) _ A car slammed into a pickup truck at a Southeast Texas intersection, killing 3 people and injuring 2 others, 1 critically.

The crash early Saturday in Conroe sent the car spinning from the impact, hurling a one of three passengers from the vehicle.

Conroe police Sgt. Robert Engel says that person, 22-year-old David Mejia Bonilla, was killed along with the car’s two other passengers, 24-year-old Alexander Moreno and 48-year-old Jose Aurelio Cantarero Benitez.

The driver, 19-year-old Misael Esquibel, was taken to Conroe Regional Medical Center. Hospital spokeswoman Debra Burbridge said he was in serious condition Sunday.

The truck spun from the impact and flipped onto its side. The driver and lone occupant, 52-year-old David Burton Jackson, suffered minor injuries and declined hospitalization.
