Three Crashes In 13 Hours Kills Three Brazos Valley Residents

Three Brazos Valley residents were killed in a 13 hour span of weekend crashes in Grimes, Madison, and Robertson counties.

DPS sergeant Jimmy Morgan reported a woman from Anderson died Saturday night after her motorcycle left FM 244 and overturned. 64 year old Rebecca Lewis was not wearing a helmet.

During the midnight hour Sunday, a S-U-V on FM 1372 in Madison County left the roadway and struck the tree. That claimed the life of a North Zulch volunteer firefighter, 44 year old Amber Alewine.

And Highway 79 was closed for four hours Sunday morning between Marquez and Ridge after a pickup truck crossed the center line and struck an oncoming semi. The driver of the pickup who died was 33 year old Richard Webb of Palestine. The driver of the semi, from Bryan, was not injured.
