Three Bikers Die in Separate Lone Star Rally Incidents

GALVESTON, Texas (AP) _ Three motorcyclists have been killed in separate crashes during a large annual motorcycle rally in Galveston.

Officials say some 400,000 people have descended on Galveston for the Lone Star Rally.

Galveston police say two people were killed Friday when a motorcyclist who was speeding and weaving in and out of traffic lost control of his bike on Interstate 45.

Earlier Friday, 51-year-old Guy Dale Stratton was critically injured when he crashed into a school bus. He is being treated at a Galveston hospital.

Police say a third person was killed Saturday when he slammed head on into a pickup truck. They estimate he was driving 100 mph when he hit the truck.

Police say they have had few other problems, but had to break up a few fights downtown.
