Three Arrests In Burleson County Armed Robbery

An armed robbery in Burleson County on July 2 has led to two arrests in Burleson County and one arrest in Brazos County.

39 year old Roy Ates of Somerville is being held without bond in the Brazos County jail on Burleson County charges of aggravated kidnapping and armed robbery.

According to the Burleson County sheriff’s office, Ates and two others are accused of robbing a man at knifepoint in Lyons.

The victim was forced to drive two of the suspects to Lee County, where the victim was left on the side of the road and the others drove away in his vehicle.

Being held in the Burleson County jail are 20 year old Allie Rosenbaum of Brenham and 30 year old Chase Smith of Somerville. Bonds were set at $70,000 each following their arrests for aggravated kidnapping and aggravated robbery.

According to online jail records, Ates was arrested on Brazos County charges of unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon and possession of a dangerous drug.
