Three Aggies Swimmers Try to Earn a Spot on Team USA

INDIANAPOLIS — Three members of the Texas A&M women’s swimming team will be attempting to earn a spot on the Team USA roster for the FINA World Championships at the Phillips 66 National Championships and World Championship Trials June 25-29 at the IUPUI Natatorium. Representing Texas A&M at the event are Cammile Adams (Cypress, Texas), Breeja Larson (Mesa, Ariz.) and Caroline McElhany (Friendswood, Texas), who will all be seniors in the upcoming 2013-14 collegiate season. All three Aggies will be making return trips to the IUPUI Natatorium, which was the site of the 2013 NCAA Championships last spring. Adams and Larson both tallied national crowns at the event, while McElhany earned All-America honors in multiple events. The top two finishers in each individual race will qualify for the FINA World Championships, which will be contested July 16-Aug. 4 in Barcelona, Spain. Adams is seeded first in the 200-meter butterfly, third in the 400 IM and No. 32 in the 200 IM. Larson is seeded first in the 50- and 100-meter breaststrokes and No. 7 in the 200 breast. McElhany is seeded No. 4 in the 50 and 100 fly, No. 5 in the 200 fly, No. 18 in the 200 IM, No. 26 in the 50 free.
