A Huntsville man awaiting seven trials in Brazos County district court makes his third appearance in jail in the last six weeks and the 29th time in 17 years.

Texas A&M police received a call last Wednesday afternoon from the victim of a stolen bicycle who saw it for sale on the internet.

That led to arranging the transaction in the parking lot of the College Station Target store.

Multiple UPD officers were present when 34 year old John Obanion was taken into custody on a charge of theft with two or more prior convictions.

At the time of his latest arrest, Obanion was out on bond following an arrest August 5th on charges of stealing household trash containing personal identity information and an arrest August 30th for a camping violation.

He is awaiting trials in four felony and three misdemeanor cases involving theft, drug, and weapons charges.

As of Monday morning, Obanion remains in jail on bonds totaling $21,000 dollars.
