It’s been more than three years since four men were accused of an armed robbery at a Bryan convenience store, where the store clerk shot one of the suspects.
A Brazos County district court jury this week sentenced the man who was hit by the store clerk’s gunfire.
22 year old Kenthony Jackson was ordered to serve 23 years in prison.
The Brenham man, who had entered a guilty plea, was hit in the torso and left arm.
Prosecutors told the jury that the August 2010 holdup at Prince Food Mart on Coulter took place eight days after Jackson was placed on probation. And while he out on bond he was arrested seven times.
A second co-defendant, 25 year old Travis Harris of Somerville, is scheduled for sentencing next week after he entered a guilty plea four months ago.
The third participant, 22 year old Willie Washington of Bryan, entered a guilty plea two years ago and was sentenced to 15 years.
And 23 year old Ricky Jackson Jr. of Houston has yet to go on trial.
