Shots fired outside a south Brazos County bar after hours early Sunday morning resulted in a death and the accused in jail.
Sheriff Chris Kirk says the crowd of over 100 in the parking lot of Neal’s Hideaway south of Millican were watching a fight between two women.
The sheriff says the boyfriend of one of the women took out a handgun and fired at least once in the air and once in the crowd. Kirk says investigators found 27 year old Brandon Richardson of Navasota, who admitted firing the shots that killed 22 year old Brice Bennett of Brenham.

Kirk says Richardson told them where he threw out two pistols, which were found along Wellborn Road.
The sheriff says detectives still have much to do after all the bar customers were gone by the time sheriff’s officers arrived at the bar shortly after 3 a.m. Sunday.
Bennett was taken by private vehicle from the parking lot to College Station Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
