Texas A&M University and the Texas Tribune have invited the public to a day-long symposium on the future of higher education in Texas.
There is no admission charge but reservations are required to Thursday’s event at the Annenberg Presidential Conference Center.
Among the sessions will be one moderated by Texas Tribune CEO and Editor in Chief Evan Smith and featuring A&M System Chancellor John Sharp and A&M President Bowen Loftin.

Higher education prospects in Texas over the next five to 10 years will be the focus Thursday (Nov. 29) for a day-long symposium co-sponsored by The Texas Tribune, the influential Austin-based nonpartisan, nonprofit media organization and Texas A&M University. The program, which is free and open to the public, will be conducted at Texas A&M’s Annenberg Presidential Conference Center adjacent to the George Bush Presidential Library and Museum, beginning at 9 a.m.
Symposium speakers include: Texas A&M University System Chancellor John Sharp; Texas A&M President R. Bowen Loftin; Sen. Kel Seliger, chairman of the Texas Senate Committee on Higher Education; Rep. Dan Branch, chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Higher Education; and Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board Commissioner Raymund Paredes. They will be joined by several other college and university presidents and higher education authorities.
