Texas Student Dies on Colorado State Campus

FORT COLLINS, Colo. (AP) _ An 18-year-old freshman at Colorado State University found unresponsive in his dorm room has died. 

The (Fort Collins) Coloradoan reports (http://goo.gl/ft8ES ) that 18-year-old Sean William McGowan of Spring, Texas, was found unresponsive in his Summit Hall room Monday morning. He was taken to Poudre Valley Hospital, where he died.

The Larimer County Coroner’s Office says the death appears to be drug-related. An autopsy was performed Monday afternoon.

Deputy Coroner/Investigator Greg Fairman told the newspaper that he found suspected black tar heroin in McGowan’s clothing and needle tracks on his arms. Fairman said there were no signs of contagious disease.

McGowan was a freshman studying English.
