AUSTIN, Texas (AP) _ Texas is sending help for wildlife rescue and cleanup as the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico continues to spread.
Texas Land Commissioner Jerry Patterson said Monday that two wildlife rescue trailers are being sent to Louisiana. Officials so far don’t expect the oil spill to have a large impact on Texas beaches.
The trailers are specialized for cleaning oiled wildlife and recovery. Patterson also says two land office oil specialists will be traveling to Louisiana to join the unified response command.
Patterson says Texas is “eager to lend a hand.”
