Texas A&M and Miami (Fla.) Agree to Home-And-Home Football Series

“We are excited to announce this home-and-home series with the Hurricanes of Miami,” Texas A&M Director of Athletics Scott Woodward said. “Texas A&M and Miami are two of the premier, tradition-rich and storied football programs in the country.”

The Hurricanes will come to Aggieland on Sept. 17, 2022 and the Aggies will return to Miami on Sept. 9, 2023.

The two football programs played a home-and-home series in 2007 and 2008 with Miami taking both contests. In 2007, the Hurricanes defeated the Aggies, 34-17, in the Orange Bowl in Miami. The Hurricanes came to Kyle Field in 2008 and won 41-23.

The two schools had met once before on the gridiron in Florida with Texas A&M defeating Miami, 70-14, in 1944.

This continues the non-conference scheduling philosophy at Texas A&M. The Aggies will open the 2017 season in the Rose Bowl against UCLA on Sept 2 after opening the 2016 campaign at Kyle Field against the Bruins. A home-and-home series with Clemson is scheduled for 2018 and 2019. Colorado from the Pac 12 is slated for 2020 and 2021. Miami in 2022 and 2023 and Notre Dame is scheduled for 2024 and 2025.
