Texas Gas Prices Level Off

IRVING, Texas (AP) _ Retail gasoline prices remain steady across Texas and nationwide.

The weekly AAA Texas price survey released Thursday shows that a gallon of unleaded regular averaged $2.52 per gallon across Texas and $2.68 nationally for the second week in a row.

The cheapest gasoline is found in Houston, where the average price of unleaded regular remained at $2.46 per gallon. El Paso continued to have the most expensive gas at $2.70 per gallon, also unchanged from last week.

The auto club statement attributes the price stability to sluggish demand for gasoline and a narrow trading range for crude oil in recent weeks, between $73 and $78 per barrel.
