IRVING, Texas (AP) _ Retail gas prices dipped slightly at the pump, dropping an average of 2 cents across Texas and nationwide this week.
AAA Texas says the average price for a gallon of gasoline fell to $2.65 in Texas, 16 cents less than the nationwide average of $2.81 a gallon.
The auto club says that although gasoline in Texas is 9 cents pricier than a year ago, it’s still way below the record high in 2008 of $3.98.
The least expensive gasoline this week is in San Antonio at $2.61 per gallon, 2 cents more than last week. The most expensive is again in Amarillo at $2.73, a penny less than last week.
