The Texas A&M University Foundation’s silent phase of their next capital campaign has exceeded one billion dollars.
Campaign director Mark Klemm told members of the Faculty Senate this month that former students are looking for projects to fund.
Klemm says the number of alumni between the ages of 55 to 75, who are most likely to present a gift of at least one million dollars, has risen from 20,000 seven years ago to 50,000 now and will go to 100,000 by the year 2020.
Klemm says giving to academic programs is up compared to the foundation’s first two capital campaigns.
Klemm says about 85 percent of contributions will go towards academics, including two contributors who gave $10 million dollars to both Kyle Field and academics.
