Bryan Police DWI Arrest With Four Prior Convictions And Indicted For Another DWI

A Bryan man convicted of drunk driving four times and is awaiting trial from a DWI arrest in April of 2023 returns to jail on another DWI charge. The Bryan police arrest report says an officer saw a SUV run two stop signs and drove about four blocks before stopping. 54 year old Anthony Bowers Jr. was arrested after failing field sobriety tests for DWI, fleeing, and failing to stop at a stop sign. Bowers was released from jail after posting bonds totaling $10,215 dollars. The BPD arrest report says Bowers was convicted of DWI three times in 2014 and once in 2018. In addition to Bowers DWI indictment from 2023, he is also awaiting trial from an arrest in July 2024 on charges of driving with an invalid license and resisting arrest.

Brazos County Commission Follows The Bryan City Council In Approving Property Tax Breaks For A Local Manufacturer’s Expansion

Brazos County commissioners join the Bryan city council in giving property tax breaks for the expansion of a local manufacturer. The county board without public comment approved before Christmas, an economic development agreement benefitting the Honeywell electronics chemical plant on Mumford Road. The county’s agreement says this will allow Honeywell to produce something called “ultra high purity hydrofluoric acid”. This would be the first plant of its kind in the United States to produce a semiconductor grade of this type of acid. Like the city, the county approved a five year agreement giving Honeywell a 50 percent abatement on the value of the expansion. The county is requiring Honeywell to increase payroll by $909,000 dollars starting in the year 2027. The Bryan council was told the expansion will create 10 to 12 jobs.

Bryan Woman Is Arrested For The Fourth Time This Year For Driving With An Invalid License

For the fourth time in nine months, Bryan police arrest a Bryan woman for driving with an invalid license (DWLI). The BPD arrest report says the night after Christmas, an officer pulled over a SUV for a headlight that wasn’t working. The driver, 41 year old Augusts Hill, is out of jail after posting a $2,000 dollar bond. Hill is awaiting four trials on misdemeanor DWLI charges from arrests in February, March, and August of this year and in February of 2022.
