COLLEGE STATION – Following a record-setting junior season, Texas A&M punter Braden Mann was named to the Sporting News Preseason All-America First Team, it was announced Wednesday.

Mann broke several NCAA records in 2018 including punting average (51.0), single-game gross punt average (60.8) and 60-yard punts (14), and won the Ray Guy Award, which is given annually to the nation’s best punter.

The SEC Special Teams Player of the Year became the Aggies’ 10th unanimous All-American in program history and the first since Myles Garrett in 2016, earning All-America distinction from the American Football Coaches Association, Associated Press, Football Writers Association of America, Sporting News and Walter Camp Foundation among others.

This marks the second preseason honor for the senior as he was recently named to Athlon Sports’ Preseason All-SEC Team.
