News release from Texas A&M Athletics:

TEMPE, Ariz. – The Texas A&M women’s tennis team heads into the 2025 regular season ranked No. 2 in the nation, the ITA announced Thursday.

The Aggies are coming off their best season in program history, which saw them take home their first ever national championship and a third-consecutive SEC title, finishing the year 28-7.

The defending champs boast four players ranked in the ITA Top 125 and are one of only two teams in the country with multiple players ranked in the singles top-15 (No. 4 Mary Stoiana, No. 15 Nicole Khirin).

Texas A&M welcomes back five of its six starters, including the reigning ITA National Player of the Year, Stoiana and All-Americans Khirin and Mia Kupres.

Head coach Mark Weaver also added five-star blue chip recruit Lexington Reed to the roster, who ranked as the No. 8 recruit in the nation.

The Maroon & White begin the regular season at the Hawaii Invitational on Jan. 8.
