Texas A&M Volleyball Releases 2019 Schedule

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Texas A&M head volleyball coach Bird Kuhn released the 2019 schedule, which features 28 regular season matches, including 12 matches against opponents who made the 2018 NCAA Tournament, as well as 13 home matches inside Reed Arena.

The Aggies host Baylor in an exhibition match on August 24 in Reed Arena, before officially kicking off the season at a two-day tournament in Louisville, Ky., where the Aggies face two 2018 NCAA Tournament squads, Dayton (Aug. 31) and host-Louisville (Sept. 1).

“We have to put our team in front of good competition,” said Kuhn. “You want to be competing at a high level every weekend. I think that is going to be a huge tournament for us.”

Following the trip to Louisville, the Aggies head to Malibu, California, to take on Cal Baptist, Fairfield and Pepperdine. Texas A&M hosted Pepperdine last season at the Texas A&M Invitational and came away with a 3-0 win in their season opener. The Waves finished the 2018 season receiving votes in the AVCA Coaches’ Poll.

After spending the first two weekends on the road, the Aggies make their first official appearance in front of the 12th Man on Thursday, Sept. 12, hosting Texas State at 6 p.m. for the Texas A&M Invitational. A&M takes on Northwestern State of the Southland Conference on Friday, Sept. 13 at 10 a.m. and then close out the tournament at 7:30 p.m. against UTRGV.
