News release from Texas A&M Athletics:
BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – The Texas A&M volleyball team added redshirt sophomore outside hitter Kyndal Stowers to the 2025 roster, head coach Jamie Morrison announced Monday.
A transfer from Baylor, Stowers was a highly touted talent entering the collegiate scene as she was named Preseason Big 12 Freshman of the Year. The outside hitter lived up to her large expectations, garnering a trio of honors during her debut campaign including Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week and a pair of Big 12 Rookie of the Week honors.
“We’re thrilled to welcome one of the most well-rounded outsides in the country to the Texas A&M Volleyball family,” coach Morrison said. “Not only is she an exceptional talent on the court, but she’s also an amazing human being who embodies the core values of what it means to be an Aggie. With family ties to Texas A&M, this is truly a homecoming for her, and we couldn’t be more excited about the journey ahead.”
Stowers was a standout on the court in her freshman season before injury ended her year early. The outside hitter led Baylor offensively with 3.84 in kills per set and 4.35 points per set. The Denton, Texas, native logged double-digit kills in 12 of the 14 matches she played. The sophomore also eclipsed 20 kills on three occasions, including a career-high 29 in a five-set battle with SMU.
On the defensive side of the net, she tallied 122 digs on the season and registered double-digit digs five times, which helped her achieve five double-doubles in her debut campaign. At the net, the sophomore blocked 22 swings with eight solos and 14 assisted.
