Texas A&M Volleyabll Lands All-Southwest Region Honors

LEXINGTON – Texas A&M volleyball’s Logan Lednicky and Ifenna Cos-Okpalla earned All-Southwest Region Honors, the American Volleyball Coaches Association announced Tuesday morning.

The Aggies landed a pair of athletes on the All-Southwest Region Team, as Lednicky secured her third-straight all-region honor, while Cos-Okpalla secured back-to-back years earning regional recognition. This honor follows the duo’s All-SEC First Team and All-SEC Preseason Team selections earlier this season.

Lednicky continues to prove herself as one of the regions standout weapons, securing her third-straight all-region honor. The junior has logged 469 kills through 28 matches, averaging 4.47 per set, while surpassing 20 kills in a match seven times this year including back-to-back games in the NCAA Tournament opening rounds. The Sugar Land, Texas, native has added 98 blocks on the year, helping her record 530.5 points and average 5.05 points per frame this season.

Cos-Okpalla proved herself to be one of the best two-way players in the region, as she’s recorded 220 kills and 151 blocks on the year. The kill total marks a single-season high for the junior and comes out to 2.10 per frame while hitting at an efficient .374 percent. On the defensive side, she matched her single season block total from last year and averaged 1.44 stuffs per set.
