Texas A&M Update At The Chamber Of Commerce Economic Outlook Conference

While Texas A&M’s president and the system chancellor were lobbying state lawmakers in Austin, a record crowd attending the Bryan/College Station chamber of commerce economic outlook conference was told about legislative priorities.

Associate vice president Chad Wooton says A&M is asking the legislature to reward universities for their growth, their outcomes, and their efficiency.

Wootton also reported on what’s being done regarding enrollment at the College Station campus.

And the partial government shutdown also had an impact on federally funded research projects.

The partial shutdown also affected the chamber event, as a guest speaker from the census bureau did not attend because that agency was closed.
