Texas A&M Softball’s Cannon Wins SEC Player of the Week

BIRMINGHAM – Texas A&M senior Trinity Cannon earned SEC Player of the Week recognition after a road series win at No. 13 Alabama, the league announced Tuesday. It marks the first weekly honor for Cannon this season and second of her career.

Cannon registered a 1.500 OPS and was 5-for-8 at the dish with four walks in three games. Most notably, Cannon hit 3-for-3 with a double and drove in four runs, while scoring a run. The Forney, Texas, native, recorded at least one hit and one walk in each game. After starting the series opener as the designated player, Cannon started the rest of the series at first base boasting an unblemished fielding percentage with 14 putouts.

The fifth SEC weekly recognition marks a program record for the Maroon & White in a season, surpassing the previous best four honors in 2023, 2022 and 2016.

UP NEXT

Texas A&M travels to Denton for a Wednesday midweek against North Texas at 6 p.m., followed by a home SEC series against Ole Miss beginning Friday at 6 p.m.
