Texas A&M Softball Player Micaela Wark Named NFCA National Player of the Week

Texas A&M standout Micaela Wark was named NFCA National Player of the Week, the organization announced Tuesday.

The graduate student went 9-for-12 (.750) over four games, totaling eight RBI, five runs and three home runs, while posting a 1.500 slugging percentage and a .786 on-base percentage. She has recorded multiple hits in five consecutive games and went 5-for-6 with runners in scoring position and 4-for-4 with 2 outs last week.

Wark excelled in the series at No. 1 Texas, hitting .700 and leading the team with seven hits, two home runs, six RBI and a 2.027 OPS. She opened the series with an RBI single and later added a home run in the fourth inning.

The Frisco, Texas, native stayed hot in game two, going 2-for-2 with an RBI, before capping the weekend with a two-run home run in the 9-7 series finale win that snapped the nation’s longest winning streak.

Wark also turned in a 2-for-2 performance with a home run, two RBI, three runs and a walk in a midweek win over Sam Houston.

She is the first Aggie to earn NFCA National Player of the Week honors since Julia Cottrill in 2023.
