Texas A&M Softball Hosts Ole Miss

News release from Texas A&M Athletics:

BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – The No. 12 Texas A&M softball team is set to host its final home SEC series of the 2024 season this weekend at Davis Diamond.

Game one of the three game set is Friday at 6 p.m., followed by Saturday’s first pitch at 4 p.m. and senior day on Sunday at 1 p.m. All three games can be streamed on the SECN+.

INSIDE THE SERIES

Texas A&M (34-9, 12-6 SEC) is 18-5 all-time against Ole Miss (25-19, 3-12 SEC), including a 10-3 ledger at home. The Aggies have won five of the last six series against the Rebels since joining the SEC. The Maroon & White claimed the three-game set a season ago in Oxford after losing the series opener.

CELEBRATE THE SENIORS

Nine seniors will be recognized postgame on Sunday, including Shaylee Ackerman, Trinity Cannon, Julia Cottrill, Jazmine Hill, Paige Lott, Sav Price, Brooke Vestal and Rylen Wiggins, as well as softball manager Everett Gay.

HOME OF THE 12TH MAN

Texas A&M boasts a 131-45 (.744) record at Davis Diamond since it opened on April 27, 2018, and are 20-2 at home in 2024. The 12th Man is regarded as one of the most dedicated fan bases in the nation. Texas A&M ranks No. 5 in the SEC and No. 10 in the nation this season averaging 1,783 fans a game and already had a showing of 2,331 on Feb. 24 which is the second largest crowd in Davis Diamond history.

PROMOTIONS

Friday night features a pregame flyover that will be conducted by one T-1A Jayhawk from the 86th Flying Training Squadron based at Laughlin Air Force Base, Texas, as well as postgame fireworks. Saturday is highlighted with postgame autographs.

PARKING

Spectators planning to attend Saturday’s softball game can park in lots 100a, 100b, 100c, 100d, 100e, 100f and 100g surrounding Reed Arena with a valid Texas A&M permit or by paying $10 cash or card. Parking for Friday and Sunday is free, but fans are highly encouraged to arrive early and have patience for the expected traffic and parking congestion around Reed Arena.
