Texas A&M Soccer Reveals Non-Conference Slate

News release from Texas A&M Athletics:

BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – The Texas A&M soccer team unveiled a rigorous 2024 non-conference schedule Wednesday, including four home matches at Ellis Field.

The eight-match slate features seven teams which posted winning records in 2023, including five with double-digit victory tallies. Six of the opponents finished in the top three in their conference standings, including Southland Conference champion Lamar and Summit League champion Denver.

The 2024 campaign kicks off Thursday, Aug. 15 when the Maroon & White travel to Beaumont to play Lamar, skippered by former Aggie assistant coach Nathan Kogut.

The Texas A&M home schedule kicks off the following weekend with Thursday and Saturday matches against Denver (Aug. 22) and Fairfield (Aug. 24), both first-time opponents for Ol’ Sarge’s charges.

The Aggies continue their renewed rivalry with Baylor when they travel to Waco for an Aug. 30 match against the Bears. After nine dormant years, the series resumed last season with the teams playing to a 1-1 draw at Ellis Field.

The home portion of the non-conference schedule closes with a Thursday and Sunday set against TCU (Sep. 5) and Louisiana Tech (Sep. 8). The Aggies and Horned Frogs have battled in rough-and-tumble each of the last four years with all the matches decided by one goal.

Texas A&M travels to the Nutmeg State for its final tune-up prior to SEC play. The Maroon & White play at Central Connecticut State Thursday, Sept. 12 and UConn Sunday, Sept. 15.

The Aggies play two exhibition matches prior to the regular season. They host Rice Saturday, Aug. 3, and travel to SMU Thursday, Aug. 8.

The Maroon & White wrapped up the 30th winning season in 31 years of the program in 2023. The Aggies posted a 10-8-4 record, playing in their 28th NCAA Tournament in the last 29 years and advancing to the second round for the 24th time in the last 26 years – a mark eclipsed only by North Carolina.
